Having people stare at your child like he is crazy or he doesn't belong was something that connected me with my parent. People are afraid of what they do not know and this is a felling that no one wants to experience but for families with autism, this is their reality. I myself had to deal with acceptance as a younger child. Because children with autism display repetitive behavior and outburst that are uncontrollable it creates attention and this attention is unwanted by many families. These interviews has helped me with the progression of my Course Project. Feedback is always accepted and I want to about your personal experience (if any) you have encountered with Autism.
Today was one of the hardest days of my life, stated a parent of a child with Autism. Autism has yet to have a cause or cure. To truly understand Autism, I interviewed two people who are closely connected with the disability. Allowing a stranger to know about your life, your fears, challenges, and the personal aspects of your life shows strength and that describes my interviewees. Conversing with a parent of a child with autism and a special education teacher was a success and has helped me to gain more knowledge and awareness about the issue.

It sounds as though this parent was able to share openly with you; what a great affirmation of your skills as an interviewer, Brittini! What strategies did you use that helped her to be so candid? Having this kind of information from parents is ALWAYS helpful, and especially so when the child has some challenges.
